I was taken to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for the second time tonight. What an amazing Prequel story to the wizarding world. J.K. Rowling has done it again. Newt Scamander steals the show along with his amazing creatures who break free from his brown briefcase as he enters New York.
For those of us who have read and seen all of the other Harry Potter stories, we recognize the differences from the New York and American magical world such as the non-maj or non magical people who are called muggles in the English set stories of Harry Potter. However, the feel of the magical world is still there. Especially, with the wonder that these creatures bring. I am not sure which was more of my favorite; the disappearing purse carrying creature or the snake-bird who can grow or shrink to the size of its surrounding.
There are a lot of links throughout the story to Hogwarts, but I won't mention them specifically here in case you haven't seen it yet. If that is the case, I highly recommend going to watch it in the theatre. It is also the beginning of 4 more movies in this pre-quel series of different times before the Harry Potter series. I truly enjoyed it and was reminiscent of the magical story that I have always loved reading and has also inspired me to write as well.
READ~WRITE~REVAMP gives Fantastic Beasts 5 out of 5 irises.
With that, happy holidays and happy reading and writing!
